Three Sons is a great read all the way through and keeps the reader wanting to know more. The story evolves around a working class Scottish family and the hardships endured, particularly by Mary, and how life changes over the years for them all. The author's ability to create strong, definable characters, as well as producing excellent descriptive narrative, takes the reader on a journey with Mary, and her family - you could be there yourself! I can't recommend this story enough. I'm sure if you read this book, then you'd become a fan of the author and look forward to her next novel.
